As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and develop a cross-functional engineering team in Cluj, ensuring the reliable delivery of complex product capabilities while building a strong, ownership-driven engineering culture.
Drive engineering execution and delivery, aligning technical priorities with product goals and overall business strategy
Ensure engineering excellence through strong development practices, code quality standards, testing discipline and reliable release processes
Develop a high-performing team culture through coaching, hiring, performance feedback and continuous learning
Build a strong “one-team” culture together with Product, ensuring close collaboration, shared ownership and fast decision-making
Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on scalable system design, including APIs, data platforms and system integrations
Oversee planning, implementation and delivery of new product features and workflows across our core stack (Java/Spring, React, AWS)
Work closely with product and business stakeholders to deeply understand strategic objectives and translate complex requirements into reliable, user-centric software solutions
Drive technical R&D initiatives such as OCR, automated bank matching or workflow automation
Understand and translate complex business processes into reliable, user-centric software solutions
8+ years of experience in software engineering, in Java backend (Spring or JEE) and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue
4+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams, including mentoring engineers, running delivery processes and fostering a high-ownership team culture
Experience delivering complex software products end-to-end, balancing technical quality, delivery speed and evolving business needs
Strong technical foundation in scalable system design, data storage (SQL/NoSQL) and REST API architectures
Strong understanding of software quality, testing strategies (BDD/TDD) and clean code principles
Ability to understand product requirements and business strategy, translating complex workflows into scalable, well-structured technical solutions
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional, international teams, working closely with Product, Design and business stakeholders
Passion for developing people and building strong teams, supporting engineers in their growth while improving team practices and engineering processes

Previous experience in a startup or scale-up environment
Knowledge of container technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS)
Experience improving agile development processes, facilitating planning, retrospectives or working closely with Product Managers
Exposure to data-heavy or workflow-driven systems such as fintech, automation platforms or document-processing pipelines
