Job description

Information

At Flyhjælp, we give people access to justice.

Flyhjælp helps air passengers across the Nordics claim compensation when their flights are delayed or cancelled. We combine legal expertise with technology to make the process swift, easy and transparent.

As part of Flightright, the pioneer of IT-based legal services in Germany, we are part of a broader European legal-tech setup and a leading player within passenger rights. Since 2010, more than 11 million consumers worldwide have benefited from our services.

We are currently looking for a new Team Lead for our Danish Litigation team in Copenhagen. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and organisation of the Danish litigation team, which currently consists of 8 colleagues.

This is a people- and operations-focused leadership role. Your core responsibility will be to ensure that the team delivers high-quality legal work on time, with the right capacity, structure and priorities in place.

A formal legal background is not required for this role. We welcome candidates from different educational paths. What matters most is your ability to lead people, create structure, improve processes and drive operational delivery in a litigation setting.

Your mission

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that Danish air passenger rights are upheld in practice.

Our Litigation Department takes legal tech to the courtroom. We handle cases against airlines in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish courts, representing customers whose rights are protected under EU Regulation 261/2004.

As Team Lead for Danish Litigation, your mission is to make sure that the team has the clarity, structure and support needed to move cases forward efficiently and correctly. This is a hands-on leadership role where casework is an essential part of the day-to-day work. You will both coordinate the team’s priorities and contribute directly to case handling.
This means balancing people leadership with operational coordination and practical case handling. You will support your team in their daily work, help prioritise tasks and deadlines, ensure that agreed processes are followed and continuously improved, and take part in case-related tasks to maintain progress, structure and quality.

The Team Lead role is deliberately distinct from the Legal Expert role. While Legal Experts are responsible for legal quality, knowledge development and legal strategy, you will be responsible for efficiency, capacity management and personnel leadership. Together, the Team Lead and Legal Expert form the local leadership of the Danish litigation area, as part of the broader Lawsuit Department.

Your work contributes directly to our mission of giving people access to justice by helping ensure that travellers are treated fairly and that their claims are handled in a way that is swift, easy and transparent.

In your day-to-day work, you will:
  • Lead and support the Danish litigation team in their daily work
  • Take responsibility for recruiting, onboarding, follow-up, feedback and development conversations
  • Plan capacity and workload to ensure the right balance between incoming casework, deadlines and available resources
  • Coordinate priorities so cases move forward efficiently and deadlines are met
  • Ensure that agreed workflows are followed, improved and embedded in daily practice
  • Create structure and stability, especially during periods of change, high workload or organisational development
  • Work closely with the Legal Expert on team priorities, processes and quality-related dependencies
  • Coordinate with other Team Leads, Operations and management across the Lawsuit Department
  • Take part in hands-on case handling when needed, such as preparing pleadings, coordinating with courts and counterparties, supporting settlement discussions and following up on enforcement of judgments

Your profile

  • You are motivated by people leadership and by building a team that works well together.
  • You do not need to be the individual legal expert in the room. Instead, you take pride in creating the structure, clarity and trust that allow others to succeed.
  • You enjoy helping people develop, making priorities clear, and ensuring that work moves forward in a calm and sustainable way.
  • You are interested in litigation work and motivated by learning legal processes.
  • You are comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment where quality, consistency and follow-through matter.
We are looking for someone who can balance both: supporting and developing people, while also ensuring that the team delivers efficiently and with a clear operational direction.

We imagine that you:
  • Have formal or informal leadership experience, or a clear motivation to take responsibility for others
  • Are interested in litigation work and motivated by learning legal processes
  • Thrive in structured, process-driven work with clear deadlines
  • Are comfortable making prioritisation decisions and following up on execution
  • Understand that good leadership is built on structure, clarity and trust - not micromanagement
  • Communicate clearly and confidently in Danish and English, both written and spoken
  • Are motivated by building a well-functioning team rather than being the individual legal star
  • Take responsibility and follow tasks through to completion
  • Value work-life balance and a healthy, sustainable workday
  • Enjoy collaborating across teams and contributing to a positive working environment
Speaking another Nordic language, such as Swedish, Norwegian or Finnish, is a plus, but not a requirement.

Why us?

At Flyhjælp, we work with a clear purpose: giving people access to justice.

Air passenger rights exist to protect travellers but in reality, many never claim what they are entitled to. The process can feel complex, time consuming and difficult to navigate. We bridge that gap by making it swift, easy and transparent.

Each case represents a real situation where something did not go as planned. Your work helps ensure that travellers are treated fairly and that their rights are upheld through a legal process that is both efficient and professional.

As Team Lead for Danish Litigation, you will have real responsibility in the core of our business. You will help shape how we run litigation at scale, support a dedicated team, and work closely with experienced legal experts and management.

Flyhjælp is an ambitious and growing legal-tech company based in Copenhagen, located near Kløvermarken. Since 2021, we have been part of the German company Flightright, which strengthens our position in the Nordic market and connects us to a broader European setup.
Our team brings together colleagues from across the Nordics and other parts of Europe, and we work closely with teams in Berlin, Budapest, Cairo and Kyiv through our parent company. This creates an international working environment with both local focus and cross-market collaboration.

You’ll be part of a collaborative setup that values trust, ownership and doing things properly - both in how we support our customers and how we work together.

What you can expect:
  • A leadership role with real responsibility in the core business
  • A clear separation between legal leadership and operational leadership
  • Close collaboration with experienced legal experts, Team Leads and management
  • A full-time position with flexible hybrid work
  • Up to 5 weeks of remote work per year from anywhere in the EU
  • The opportunity to occasionally work from our Berlin office
  • A supportive and international team across Europe
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development in a growing company
  • The opportunity to make a tangible impact for both your team and air passengers seeking justice
Ready to give access to justice?
Apply by submitting your CV and a cover letter. Starting salary range is DKK 30,000–35,000 per month, depending on background and qualifications. Expected start date is 1 August 2026.

If you have any questions regarding the position, you are welcome to contact Marie Hoffmann at marie.hoffmann@flightright.de

There is no application deadline, but please send your application as soon as possible, as we invite candidates for interviews on an ongoing basis and will close the recruitment process once we have found the right candidate.

Please note that, due to our work with debt collection, all employment at Flyhjælp is conditional upon the selected candidate presenting a criminal record certificate as part of the final recruitment process. The certificate will be assessed only to the extent relevant to the position and our business requirements, and will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection and recruitment rules.
