Job description
As a member of Climate Analytics’ Implementation Strategies Team, the Senior Climate Policy Analyst plays a critical role in supporting developing countries, mainly in the Caribbean and Latin America, to access climate finance and to develop and implement climate action strategies. The role focuses on enabling governments and regional stakeholders to develop, finance, and execute their climate strategies, contributing to national adaptation and mitigation efforts under the Paris agreement, including through Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), Long-Term Strategies (LTS), and National Adaptation Plans (NPAs) as well as enabling conditions (e.g., governance, finance, and coordination). In addition to contributing subject matter expertise to relevant projects, the Senior Climate Policy Analyst plays a leading role in advancing the North America Office’s Implementation Strategies team portfolio by leading proposal development and project delivery; providing content oversight for the team’s outputs and deliverables; and delivering strategic advice to the Office Director on relevant programmatic and funding strategies. The Senior Analyst also supports execution of Climate Analytics’ UNHQ engagement strategy by leveraging expertise and experience at the intersection of climate, sustainable development, and finance in diverse national contexts to inform UN engagement.Your responsibilities
