Senior Economist (m/f/d)

 

 

Job purpose / role

Group Economic Research (GER) at Allianz Investment Management SE (AIM) carries out macroeconomic, financial market and insurance trends research. GER provides economic and strategic advice to Allianz' and AIM's board of management. Our services range from economic forecasts to scenario analysis to thematic research for decision-making and thought leadership. Externally, we represent the position of Allianz on economic and capital markets issues, including economic policies and trends affecting the insurance sector.

 

Key responsibilities

 

• Macroeconomic monitoring and forecasting of European economies with a strong focus on cyclical analysis (business cycle dynamics, turning points, and short- to medium-term macro outlook) and corresponding capital markets implications
• Development of high-quality actionable insights into macroeconomic topics (reports, presentations to customers)
• Innovative research (new indicators and themes) as a contribution to thought leadership and branding
• Publishing research results in- and externally (flagship reports, memos etc.)
• Collaborating / leading projects with other departments
• Scenario building
• Briefing chief economist and the board members on these issues.

 

Key requirements/skills/experience

 

• Master's degree in Economics/Statistics/Finance with 5-7 years relevant experience, PhD is a plus
• Business data provider and modelling software
• Strong knowledge of data science (analytics, modeling, visualization)
• Visionary competence coupled with strong communication and analytical skills
• Proficiency in English and German (written and spoken)
