Senior Accountant - Germany

Reporting to: Europe Controller

Job Summary:

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) provides power circuits for systems found in cloud computing, telecom infrastructure, automotive, industrial and consumer applications.

MPS is seeking an energetic, efficient, self-motivated and resourceful team player to be a member of its Finance staff supporting our activities in Germany and Switzerland.

The Senior Accountant reports to the Europe Controller and will be based in Germany (Munich)

Essential Functions:

• Provides accounting support and analysis for the Corporate, German and Swiss GAAP.
• Leads day-to-day accounting activities and month-end close by monitoring and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal vouchers, and providing management with timely and accurate reporting.
  • Tasks include Journal entries, BS, PL and Cashflow reporting, annual accounts and audit processes.
  • Quarter & yearly VAT preparations as well as preparation of year-end closing.
  • Regular bank reconciliation with control of accounts receivables and accounts payables.
• Ensures accuracy and compliance of financial records.
• Prepares and/or work with local service providers to coordinate statutory tax and reporting requirements. Research tax and regulatory issues as needed. 
• Provides Government Relation support as needed as it relates to government filings and assisting with resolution of corporate matters.
• Develops cash flow management
• Supports Budget process
• Identifies and propose accounting solutions for new or unusual business transactions and helps to ensure that the day-to-day accounting is consistent with corporate accounting policies, procedures and GAAP.
• Supports Audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Supports ERP rollout for FI modules.
• Supports for ad hoc projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

• Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
• +5 years experience in similar roles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self motivated with a high level of initiative
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Advanced Knowledge of Excel and PowerBI.
• Fluent in English and German, French or other EU language is a +.
