Job description

We are currently looking for a skilled App Engineer (m/f/d) to support us in building the fastest & most intuitive shopping app using a brand-new tech stack onsite in Hamburg or remotely within Germany!

The Shop Applications Team constantly improves the App, Mobile Website and Desktop Website. These big-scale products are each visited by over several million active users every month. The team’s focus is to provide our customers the most inspiring, convenient, intuitive, and easy-to-use shopping experience. They constantly challenge themselves to raise the bar of what is “state of the art” in customer-facing products.

What you will do

Build and ship new high impact features and improvements to the AY App using Dart and Flutter, contributing to one of the most widely-used applications built with Flutter.
Work closely together with other experienced developers, product managers, QA, and designers to ship new components and features.
Proactively identify and seek to resolve technical debt and building internal tools to enhance team productivity.
Have a direct impact on team processes by regular agile retrospectives.

Who you are

4+ years of programming experience, at least 2 years of app development experience.
Extensive experience in frontend development, ideally across multiple frameworks.
Extensive experience in Flutter.
Strong expertise in UI development and building complex frontend logic.
You write well-structured, efficient and maintainable code and actively keep the quality of the code base in check.
You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
You are used to working in an English speaking environment.
Excellent problem-solving: You can solve conceptual, non-standard problems and exercise solid judgment based on analysing multiple sources of information.
High autonomy and ownership: You are motivated, take matters into your own hands, and can implement a complex feature with little oversight from your manager.
Strong communicator: You can communicate transparently, honestly, and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g. Product, Design).
Team player: You actively share knowledge, inspire other team members, and aim to fulfill team goals.

Nice to have

Design awareness and ability to collaborate closely with designers
Familiarity with gRPC and Go in a shop backend environment
Expertise in UI and Animation development
