Twentyfour Industries
We’re an early-stage startup backed by leading European VCs, building advanced small Unmanned Aerial Systems to strengthen European sovereignty and security. Our team combines deep engineering expertise with a startup mentality – moving fast, building hands-on, and shipping real hardware.
What we’re looking for
We’re hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to work directly on our UAV platforms alongside R&D. Your focus is the product itself – selecting the right manufacturing technologies and materials, defining assembly processes, and driving DFM and DFA. You’ll work closely with our production and factory engineering team to ensure build quality from prototype through to series. This is a hands-on role where you test, iterate, and make sure our drones are built to perform reliably at scale.
The day-to-day
- Work hands-on with UAV prototypes and production units – building, testing, and iterating on assemblies and subsystems.
- Collaborate closely with R&D engineers on new platform designs – drive DFM and DFA reviews to ensure every design is producible, testable, and reliable.
- Evaluate and select manufacturing technologies, materials, and assembly processes for UAV subsystems – balancing performance, weight, cost, and producibility.
- Workhand-in-handwith the production and factory engineering team to translate platform designs into assembly documentation, work instructions, test procedures, and quality control checkpoints – ensuring a smooth handover from development to the shop floor.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and integration issues on prototypes and pre-production units – root-cause problems, define quality criteria, and drive design improvements.
- Plan and execute development tests (structural, functional, environmental) tovalidatedesign changes and new components.
- Support the transition of new platform designs from R&D into series production, partnering with the production and factory engineering team to ensure build quality and repeatability from the first unit onward.
You should apply if you
- Have 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, R&D, or production engineering – ideally in aerospace, robotics, drones, or complex electromechanical products.
- Understand how complex electromechanical systems gotogether, andcan evaluate manufacturing technologies and materials to find the best approach for production.
- Have hands-on experience building, testing, and debugging hardware prototypes –you’recomfortable with tools in hand.
- Have experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) – you know how to push back on designs thatwon’twork in production.
- Are proficient in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and comfortable with 3D modelling, technical drawings, and tolerance analysis.
- Thrive in close collaboration – both with R&D engineers on the design side and with the production and factory engineering team on the manufacturing side.
- Have a hands-on, prototyping-first mindset: youbuild, test, break, and iterate quickly.
- Have a solid understanding of quality control processes, inspection methods, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Are eligible to obtain NATO or EU security clearance.
Nice to haves
- Experience working on UAV, drone, or small aerospace platforms from prototype through to production.
- Experience with test planning, DoE, and validation testing (structural, thermal, environmental).
- Knowledge of composites, lightweight structures, or advanced materials used in UAVs.
- Hands-on experience with mechatronics – sensors, actuators, wiring harnesses, or embedded systems integration.
- Rapid prototyping skills (3D printing, laser cutting) for quick design validation.
- Experience with FEA/simulation tools for structural or thermal analysis.
- Python or scripting skills for test automation or data analysis.
What we offer
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity options –you’rebuilding this with us.
- A high-impact role working directly on next-generation European UAV platforms – your engineering decisions fly.
- A collaborative, fast-moving startup environment where your ideas ship quickly.
- Flexible working conditions, remote work options, and relocation support for top candidates.
- The chance to work at the intersection of aerospace, robotics, and defense – on hardware that matters.
