The Strategy Team of the Business Segment Industrial Quality and Research is responsible for defining the strategic direction of the metrology and microscopy business and facilitating its implementation across various projects in growth markets like new electrical vehicles, semiconductor or pharma industry. 

Core responsibilities include conducting comprehensive market analyses, formulating robust strategies, supporting the expansion of new business areas—including potential acquisitions—and advancing organizational development and process optimization initiatives. 

As Senior Manager Strategy Industrial Quality Solutions, you will be instrumental in developing the long-term strategic vision for the metrology business. In this capacity, you will serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team, ensuring that market trends, organizational strengths, and financial frameworks are cohesively integrated to promote lasting competitiveness and growth. 

Your Role:  

• Guide and shape the SBU’s long-term strategy in coordination with management  

• Manage the implementation of strategies and monitor their progress 

• Design and lead key strategic projects and growth initiatives independently  

• Provide thought leadership on business, strategy, and emerging market trends in your area 

• Assess new business prospects, future business models, and M&A candidates  

• Support organizational change and efforts to improve processes  

• Engage stakeholders at all levels, including the Business Segment leadership team and the ZEISS Executive Board, and present clear recommendations 

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field; strong financial skills 

• At least 5 years’ experience in management consulting, strategy, or similar fast-paced strategic roles leading project teams 

• Work experience in manufacturing industry with high-tech products e.g. automative, machinery, electronics 

• Strong problem-solving skills, results orientation, project management and communication skills 

• Enjoy collaborating closely across organizational boundaries and working with interdisciplinary teams 

• Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus
