We are looking for you to join our Drilling Fluids & Disposal team at our Karlsruhe site on a full-time (42 hours, 14 days on, 14 days off) and permanent basis as a Mud Advisor (m/f/d). The site is located 35 kilometers north-west of Karlsruhe in the area of our Phase 1 project, where several geothermal wells are being drilled.Your mission
- You will supervise the contracted drilling fluid and solids control companies and ensure safe, efficient plant operation.
- You will optimize the drilling fluids and solids control equipment and develop solutions for wellbore problems.
- You will ensure compliance with all drilling fluid parameters, evaluate conditioning, and make decisions on necessary adjustments.
- You plan fluid changes, cementing, and fluid storage, including calculating the quantities required.
- You are responsible for waste management at the drilling rig and ensure compliance with technical and safety requirements.
- You will train the drilling personnel in the area of drilling fluids and waste management and support the team with technical questions.
- You will prepare detailed daily, section, and final reports and report daily to the Drilling Fluids & Waste Manager.
Your profile
- You have work experience in the German market, ideally in the Upper Rhine Valley.
- You have training or qualifications as a drilling fluid engineer or technician—or many years of experience in the field of drilling fluids.
- You have in-depth knowledge of fluid systems, drilling fluids, additives, contaminants, and basic geology.
- You are familiar with relevant safety protocols and environmental regulations and have a good understanding of waste management.
- You are able to create detailed drilling fluid logs and work confidently with technical software and MS Office.
- You have a technical background in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and geology.
- You are motivated, a team player, willing to travel, and open to training and innovative solutions.
- You have a Class B driver's license.
