Job description
Your mission at Plantura
You are the person who discusses strategy with leadership in the morning and gets hands-on in Figma in the afternoon.Who we are: Plantura makes gardening easy. High-quality plants, effective care products, content that actually helps, and the Plantura App as the digital companion connecting it all (2+ million installs, 4.6★). Yet, to us, it still feels like the beginning.
Why this role, why now: We already have a large, satisfied customer base. Now, we want to help even more people garden successfully. We are looking for someone to help shape this scaling phase.
We have key building blocks in place: an app featuring a Plant Doctor, a shop with a chatbot, and a magazine with an audience of millions. The Digital Companion, the seamless guide supporting customers throughout their entire plant journey, needs to grow even further.
This is where you come in: We are looking for you to write the next chapter. You will develop our digital ecosystem further, rather than just managing it.
Your Role: You will take ownership of design as a strategic growth lever, not a service function. You will report directly to the Co-CEO and be part of the leadership team.
This means:
- You develop the design vision for our app, shop, and product and actively help implement it. Strategy and execution go hand in hand.
- You will work alongside two experienced designers. Together, you deliver, learn from one another, and grow as a team.
- You bring in the customer perspective: through user research, testing, and a deep understanding of the people using our products.
- You collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering, from early ideation to release. You understand technical constraints but still design boldly.
- You bridge brand and product design to create a coherent experience: from app and web into real life with our physical products. From the first ad to the moment the package arrives and the relationship that grows from there.
- You make design measurable. Conversion, retention, NPS—you know which levers to pull and you optimize continuously.
What you bring
This is an in-house role, not an agency. You are building a product you would use yourself. Your measure of success isn't the perfect pitch deck, but real people gardening successfully with our help.- You have experience in D2C, e-commerce, or digital products. You understand how design impacts business outcomes.
- You can think strategically AND deliver hands-on. You are not "too senior" for Figma. You build the prototype yourself when speed is key.
- You think from a customer perspective. Your benchmark isn't "the stakeholder feedback was positive," but "the customers keep coming back."
- You firmly integrate user research into your workflow—you know how to generate customer insights and translate them into design decisions.
- You have 6+ years of experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- You are fluent in German and English.
Why Plantura?
- True ownership: You define design at Plantura. No political battles, no "design doesn't have a seat at the table." You are at the table.
- Direct impact: What you build is used by real people. Tomorrow. Not in three years after five rounds of approvals.
- A collaborative team: Two experienced designers you will work with to reach the next level together.
Flexibility: 2-3 days a week in our Munich office at Königsplatz, the rest remote. Up to 6 weeks per year of work-from-anywhere within the EU. - Development: Whatever moves you forward—professionally and personally. Whether it's leadership coaching, conferences, fitness, or wellness, we support you individually.
- Sustainability: Together with our biotech partners, we are bringing the next generation of sustainable care products to the market—from plant protection to beneficial insects and fertilizers. No greenwashing, but lived reality.
Sounds like you? Then apply with your portfolio and a short cover letter showing us: What excites you about this role—and what would you tackle first?
