The Engineering Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing aspects of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management throughout the engineering and construction phases of the Greenfield Project. This role ensures that activities are conducted in compliance with relevant German safety regulations, company policies, and industry’s best practices. The Safety Manager acts as the primary point of contact for safety matters on-site, proactively identifying risks, suggesting and implementing control measures and fostering a culture of safety among all project stakeholders.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP, IOSH) are highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years’ large project experience in Germany in a safety leadership role within engineering or construction projects, preferably in large-scale or complex environments.
In-depth knowledge of German safety legislation, regulations, and standards relevant to engineering and construction.
Strong organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in safety management systems and relevant software tools.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk management.
Fluency in German and English; additional languages such as French, or Dutch is a plus.
