As Senior Credit Risk Manager (m/w/d), you will act as a key interface between Trading, Sales, Finance, Operations and IT, taking ownership of the company’s credit risk framework and actively shaping how credit risk is assessed, managed and embedded across the organization. The role goes far beyond classical credit assessment and offers a strong focus on systems, data and transformation. You will contribute to the continuous development of tools, processes and reporting structures to enable a scalable, transparent and future-proof credit risk function. In this position, you play a central role in safeguarding the company’s financial stability while supporting commercial growth in a dynamic and international commodities environment.
Assess Creditworthiness: You evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers and determine appropriate credit limits.
Define Credit Frameworks: You develop, implement and continuously refine credit policies and procedures in line with corporate strategy and risk appetite.
Monitor Exposure & Payments: You track customer payment behavior, identify risks early and initiate actions to manage delinquent accounts.
Drive System Excellence: You actively work with Credit Risk Management systems and contribute to system enhancements and transformations.
Partner with the Business: You collaborate closely with Sales, Trading and Customer Service to resolve credit issues and enable smooth business operations.
Provide Insights: You prepare reporting and analysis for senior management to support decisions on credit risk and portfolio exposure.
Educational Background: You did a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
Relevant Experience: You have 5–10 years of experience in credit risk and/or trade finance, ideally in a commodities environment.
Trade Finance Expertise: You have experience with physical trading involving logistics operations and a solid understanding of trade finance instruments and credit insurance.
Systems Experience: You have Hands-on experience with Credit Risk Management IT systems and with ETRM systems (RightAngle) and accounting systems (SAP).
Language: You are fluent in both German and English.
System-Oriented & Analytical: You combine strong credit risk expertise with a high affinity for IT systems and data.
Change-Oriented: You enjoy improving processes and driving system changes.
Business-Minded: You balance risk awareness with commercial understanding.
Communicative: You can explain complex topics clearly to different stakeholders.
Reliable & Responsible: You handle sensitive topics with integrity and professionalism.
