Our Maritime Kick-Start Programme is designed for aspiring maritime professionals—whether you're a former apprentice or a recent graduate—who are eager to deepen their industry knowledge, develop their skills, and explore different areas of our business.
You’ll experience the maritime industry from multiple angles while working with a global leader in the transport of heavy-lift and project cargo.
What You Can Expect:- Rotational Assignments
Work across key departments such as Operations and Chartering to gain comprehensive insights into our core business. These rotations provide a strong foundation for your future growth!
- Structured Learning
In addition to on-the-job training, you’ll participate in our in-house “Harren Academy” to solidify your understanding of the sector.
- Practical Skill Development
Grow your expertise in vessel operations, cargo handling, chartering, logistics, compliance, and maritime software systems.
- Mentorship & Support
Each trainee is matched with a mentor who offers one-on-one guidance, shares valuable industry insights, and helps you navigate your personal development journey.
- International Exposure
Join a truly multinational team and get the opportunity to complete one rotation abroad in one of our international offices.
- Build Your Network
Take part in networking events, industry workshops, and gain direct access to professionals across the maritime logistics sector.
Your profile
- You’ve successfully completed an apprenticeship as Schifffahrtskaufmann/-frau (or equivalent experience at a shipping company) or
- You hold a degree in Business Administration, International Management, or Economics with a focus on maritime, shipping, or logistics.
- You thrive in a collaborative, international work environment and are confident communicating in English.
- You have a strong passion for the maritime industry - especially for heavy-lift and project cargo.
- You’re ready to relocate to Hamburg, where the majority of the programme is based.
- And most importantly: You’re eager to throw yourself in and take the next step in your career!
