Working Student - Label & Operations

Ghostnote is a fast-growing music startup based in Berlin on a mission to build the biggest label you've never heard of. We create music brands in lofi and adjacent spaces — gaming, anime, fantasy — built around expertly curated playlists and a deep understanding of the communities that love them. Our founding team has already scaled music brands to reach millions of Spotify listeners, and we're just getting started.

We move fast, care deeply about music and culture, and obsess over the details. If you're someone who loses track of time going down a rabbit hole — whether that's a new anime arc, a gaming deep-cut, or a perfectly sequenced playlist — you'll fit right in.

Tasks

• Production support — Keep our file management systems organised, organize track revisions and finals, and make sure our project boards stay up to date as music moves through the pipeline.
• Release planning — Help coordinate the end-to-end release process: maintaining metadata, organising audio and artwork assets, ordering mechanical licences for cover songs, and making sure everything is in the right place ahead of release dates.
• Distribution — Deliver releases to streaming platforms, generate and store the identifiers that make music trackable across services, and help maintain our back catalogue.
• Landing pages — Build and localise playlist landing pages for different markets and platforms, and keep them stored and accessible for the team.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a university degree (any field — music, business, media, communications, or anything else)

• Comfortable working in spreadsheets and picking up new tools quickly

• Proactive and reliable — you follow through without needing to be chased

• Highly organised and detail-oriented — you catch the small things before they become big problems

• Genuinely passionate about music — you don't need an industry background, but music has to matter to you

• A fan of anime and/or gaming, and someone who actually participates in those communities (this shapes the audiences we build for, so cultural fluency here is a real asset)

• Based in Berlin and able to come into the office 2–3 days per week

• Nice to have: Spanish and/or Portuguese speaker — we're growing in Latin American markets and this would be a genuine advantage
