The MSG-3 Engineer is responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining aircraft maintenance programs in accordance with the MSG-3 methodology. The role ensures that scheduled maintenance tasks are technically justified, cost-effective, and compliant with regulatory and airworthiness requirements, supporting continued safe and reliable aircraft operation.
Work Environment
- Office-based engineering role with collaboration across CAMO, engineering, and maintenance teams
- Occasional travel to airlines, MROs, or regulatory authorities as required
Verantwortlichkeiten
MSG-3 Analysis & Maintenance Program Development
- Perform MSG-3 analyses for aircraft systems, structures, and powerplant.
- Define and justify scheduled maintenance tasks (HT, OC, FC, GVI, DVI, SDI, lubrication, restoration, discard).
- Determine task intervals based on reliability, safety, and operational data.
- Develop and update Maintenance Review Board Reports (MRBR) and maintenance programs.
Reliability & Data Analysis
- Analyze in-service reliability data, fleet experience, and failure trends.
- Support escalation, de-escalation, and optimization of maintenance intervals.
- Participate in Reliability Review Boards and maintenance program optimization activities.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with EASA / FAA / ICAO airworthiness regulations.
- Support authority interactions, audits, and maintenance program approvals.
- Ensure alignment with Part-CAMO / Part-M / Part-145 requirements.
Change Management
- Assess the impact of Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and modifications on the maintenance program.
- Update MSG-3 analyses and maintenance tasks accordingly.
- Maintain traceability between engineering changes and maintenance requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Design Engineering, Customer Support, Technical Publications, Reliability, and Maintenance teams.
- Support airline and MRO customers with maintenance program explanations and revisions.
- Provide technical input during aircraft entry-into-service (EIS) activities.
Qualifikationen
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in MSG-3 analysis or maintenance program development.
- Strong knowledge of ATA chapters and aircraft systems.
- Understanding of scheduled maintenance task types and intervals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OEM or airline maintenance program development.
- Familiarity with MPD, MRBR, ALS, and AMP documentation.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering and statistical analysis.
- Experience with wide-body, narrow-body, rotorcraft, or business jet programs.
