Evident Technology Center Europe GmbH (ETCE), based in Münster, Germany, has been developing and producing intelligent software and hardware solutions for microscopy for more than 35 years as a global ‘Center of Excellence.’ Until March 2023, it was part of Olympus Corporation, Japan. In April 2023, Olympus spun off the business unit and transferred its Scientific Solutions division’s operations to the newly founded, independent company Evident.
You will join an experienced agile development team working on the SLIDEVIEW VS200, a high-end automated slide-scanning and digital microscopy system used in life-science research and medical diagnostics (IVD).
The software controls complex hardware, processes large volumes of image data, and provides professional Windows desktop applications. The product also offers advanced image analysis capabilities, including neural network–based methods, as part of its overall functionality. You will contribute across the whole development lifecycle.
Develop modern C++ (C++20) software for Windows in a hardware-driven system
Implement device control, image acquisition workflows, image processing, and UI components (WPF / MFC)
Collaborate in cross-functional Scrum teams to design robust and maintainable solutions
Take responsibility for software components including implementation, debugging, and maintenance, with support from the team
Work hands-on with scanner systems to ensure reliable hardware/software integration
Improve code quality and architecture using modern C++ features
Ensure software quality through automated tests, code reviews, and CI pipelines
Use Visual Studio 2026 and AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude AI)
Degree in Computer Science, natural science or a comparable qualification
Professional experience in Windows software development
Strong C++ skills (STL, Boost); basic knowledge of C#
Experience with and interest in modern C++ standards (C++17/20)
Practical experience with Windows UI technologies (WPF and/or MFC)
Confident use of Visual Studio, Git, and CI/CD
Experience with medical devices (IVD), DICOM, image processing, or cyber security is a plus
Very good English or German language skills
Team-oriented mindset and interest in complex, integrated software–hardware systems
Work on cutting-edge digital microscopy systems with direct impact on research and diagnostics
