We are looking for a Working Student in MidCorp Underwriting - Business Analysis (m/f/d), preferably based in Munich, where the majority of the team is located. Candidates based in Frankfurt are also welcome; however, please note that no direct team members are based at this location for now. Therefore, you should be comfortable collaborating and working in a remote setup.

You will play a key role in driving the development of client-centric solutions designed to enhance portfolio analysis and promote smart, selective growth. This includes building data-driven insights and user-friendly interfaces that empower underwriters to make informed, efficient decisions. Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• You will support the development of new digital capabilities aligned with Allianz Commercial's strategy, focusing on automation and advanced analytics solutions.
• You will contribute to the execution of our core strategic priorities for 2026 and 2027 across Underwriting, as well as to the development of underwriting portfolio management solutions, ensuring that high-quality portfolio information is readily accessible to underwriting teams to support effective cycle management.
• You will identify, acquire, and analyze internal/external data to support portfolio steering.
• You will collaborate closely with project leads and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• You are pursuing a Bachelor's/Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Mathematics Finance or Economics.
• Hands-on experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL) to effectively present portfolio insights.
• Demonstrated experience in portfolio analysis, including the ability to assess performance metrics and identify trends for selective growth.
• Good knowledge of Python.
• You have experience working internationally with adaptability across borders; experience in insurance is a plus.
• You possess excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• You demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• You can work independently, taking ownership of tasks and projects.
• The ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency, and contribute to data-driven decision-making is valuable.
• You speak English fluently.

 

Further Information:

• Duration at least 6 months (preferably longer).
• 20 hours/week.
• Enrollment at the university/college is a prerequisite for the duration of employment.
