About the role
The Technical Buyer PPR is responsible for purchase goods, materials and services through proper and fair negotiations to ensure that the projects’ needs are met, taking into consideration price, quality and lead times, according to Sulzer policies. Description of the specific tasks

Adhere to Sulzer policies and procedures regarding the purchase of Products and Services and in accordance with the finance department procedures applicable to Procurement

Assume responsibility for leading the procurement of assigned project materials, products and services within budget and within project timescales.

Establish working relationships with vendors to strengthen business and support company strategies.

Keep contact with all related suppliers to evaluate the characteristics of the products and services being supplied under the required quality and conditions

Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers

Explore alternate sources for goods and materials

Provide the project team with the offers received, making the relevant comments and suggestions about the suppliers, opportunities and market status.

Prepare technical and commercial evaluation sheets ensuring full scope of supply has been quoted accurately and like throughout panel of vendors

Gather all relevant requirements from the different departments involved in the project (PM, quality, ORE, …) and host bid clarification meetings with the suppliers involving all stakeholders within the business if required to ensure scope is in line with the needs of the project and company business.

Responsible for the timely conversion of requisitions to purchase order placement

Obtain written confirmation of delivery by means of securing formal purchase order acknowledgments for all purchase orders

Ensure delivery of purchased supplies in accordance with project and production requirements in a timely manner and with the required quality

Expedite supplier activities as well as internal involved departments to provide the required feedback to enable suppliers to progress with engineering / production activity.

Manage the timely resolution of Non-Conformities with suppliers and coordinate the internal activities required for their closure.

Effectively communicate and escalate any risks to delivery dates and production schedule within the business.

Keep updated the relevant data on the ERP of the factory on the assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Identify lessons learnt, communicate them to all relevant stakeholders and properly document them according to Sulzer Spain procedures

Balance both tactical executions with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects.

Delivers briefs, updates and reports as required and attends required meetings

Commit to the continuous improvement strategy by developing ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work.
