Project – the aim you’ll have
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our technology team. This role is primarily focused on the administration, optimisation, security, and support of enterprise Oracle database platforms supporting critical business systems within a highly regulated financial services environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the stability, resilience, and performance of mission-critical Oracle environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments would be advantageous as part of a broader hybrid database estate.
The role supports strategic technology initiatives, hybrid cloud deployments, and development teams delivering business-critical solutions.
Position – how you’ll contribute

Administer, support, and optimise enterprise Oracle database environments.

Ensure high availability, resilience, performance, and security of production database systems.

Perform backup, recovery, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and maintenance activities.

Support Oracle technologies including Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, RAC, Exadata, Azure and OCI.

Participate in cloud transformation initiatives across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Azure.

Support Database DevOps, automation, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Azure DevOps.

Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.

Maintain operational documentation and support project onboarding activities.

Participate in on-call rota and out-of-hours support where required.

Provide secondary support for Microsoft SQL Server platforms where required.
