We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Technical Writer to join our Platform Release Management organization. In this role, you will take ownership of complex, business‑critical documentation and act as a trusted partner to senior engineering, release, and platform stakeholders.
Role Overview
As a Senior Technical Writer for Platform Release Management, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence. You will shape how release, platform, and operational information is documented and consumed across the organization. The role goes beyond documentation authoring and includes setting standards, mentoring others, and driving documentation excellence at scale.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
-
Own and lead technical documentation for platform and release management, covering end‑to‑end release lifecycles and operational readiness.
-
Translate complex platform, cloud, and engineering concepts into clear, structured, and decision‑ready documentation for varied audiences.
-
Define and maintain documentation standards, templates, and style guides for Platform Release Management.
-
Partner closely with Senior Platform Release Managers, Engineering Leads, SREs, and Architects to ensure accuracy and relevance.
-
Drive consistency and quality across release notes, runbooks, process documentation, and executive‑level summaries.
-
Act as a documentation subject‑matter expert for platform modernization and transformation initiatives.
-
Proactively identify documentation gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities across platform and release processes.
-
Ensure documentation supports audit, compliance, and operational governance requirements.
-
Mentor and guide contributors from engineering and release teams on effective technical documentation practices.
WHAT WE VALUE
-
Significant experience as a Senior Technical Writer in large‑scale software, platform, or engineering environments.
-
Strong understanding of software delivery, platform operations, and release management practices.
-
Proven ability to work with complex technical domains and senior technical stakeholders.
-
Exceptional written English with a strong focus on precision, structure, and clarity.
-
Experience creating and governing documentation frameworks, not just individual documents.
-
Hands‑on experience with documentation tools, collaboration platforms, and version control.
-
Ability to influence without authority and drive documentation quality across teams.
-
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high‑impact documentation streams.
-
Ability to use and encode the documentation in MadCap Flair
Nice to Have
-
Experience documenting Azure or other cloud platforms.
-
Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, SRE concepts, and operational excellence.
-
Experience in enterprise or regulated environments.
-
Familiarity with audit, compliance, accessibility, or security‑driven documentation.
-
Previous involvement in major platform modernization or transformation programs.
