The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex hospital information system projects. This role oversees all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in healthcare IT, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams on mission-critical initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end management of hospital information system projects, including scope definition, resource allocation, budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation.

Lead cross-functional teams, including IT professionals, healthcare providers, and administrative staff, to coordinate project tasks and deliverables.

Collaborate with stakeholders such as clinicians, IT professionals, executives, and vendors to gather requirements, set objectives, and ensure project deliverables meet clinical and operational needs.

Develop project execution strategies, governance models, detailed project plans, timelines, and progress reports, adapting strategies as needed to meet changing demands and ensure timely delivery.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, HITECH), data security standards, and organization policies throughout the project lifecycle.

Monitor project performance using established metrics, proactively identify issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain quality, scope, and budget.

Facilitate effective communication among project teams, executive leadership, and external partners.

Mentor and guide junior project managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Manage vendor and partner relationships, contract negotiations, and technology integration efforts.

Work with sales and bid management team to prepare effort estimations and costings for RFPs and opportunities.
Skills and Attributes

Minimum 7 years’ experience in project management, with at least 5 years in healthcare IT or hospital information systems, covering implementation, delivery management, interoperability in a healthcare setting.

Experience with large-scale implementations in hospitals, or healthcare networks.

Knowledge of EU healthcare regulations and healthcare standards such as HL7 and FHIR.

Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical processes, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Change management and governance expertise.

Ability to build consensus and drive collaboration among diverse teams.

Project Management Professional (PMP, PRINCE) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.

Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana) and healthcare IT applications.
