Our Corporate Bank Technology team is a global team of 3000 coders (and growing!) across 30 countries. The primary businesses that Corporate Bank support are Cash Management, Securities Services, Trade Finance and Trust & Agency Services. CB Technology support these businesses through CIO aligned teams and also by 'horizontals' such as Client Connectivity, Surveillance and Regulatory, Infrastructure, Architecture, Production, and Risk & Control.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to join our team as a key individual contributor. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing our global API Management Platform. You’ll work independently and collaboratively across teams to deliver robust, secure, and highly available solutions that underpin our enterprise API ecosystem. As part of the Deutsche Bank's technology team, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and evolution of our essential API infrastructure.
Responsibilities

Works as part of an engineering team to improve the overall delivery process for the Glue Platform.

Collaborates with software engineers and product teams to ensure platform development adheres to established processes and meets operational requirements.

Provides expert tools, automation, and infrastructure assistance to support platform engineering efforts.

Designs, implements, and manages critical infrastructure components for the Glue Platform, including load balancers, firewalls, and network configurations.

Drives initiatives to automate and enhance the development, testing, and release processes.

Plays a key role in enhancing Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Monitoring.

Develops and integrates systems, utilities, and scripts to automate the deployment and monitoring of builds and environments across multiple stages.

Partners with Developers and Quality Assurance teams to orchestrate automated testing and deployment throughout the lifecycle of environments, from development to production.

Identifies performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and optimization potentials within the Platform and implements effective solutions.

Liaises with other technical teams, conducting technology research, and evaluating software and tools required for maintaining and advancing the Platform development and operational environment.

Proactively identifies and addresses routine application maintenance tasks for the Glue Platform through strategic planning and automation.

Provides technical guidance, mentorship, and educates team members and coworkers on best practices.

Designs, deploys, manages, and documents robust CI/CD pipelines.
Skills

Experience with building and supporting high-availability, mission-critical applications

Strong understanding of distributed systems design and architectural patterns

Good understanding of Microservices architecture and API Management principles

Experience with CI/CD processes and modern deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary, A/B)

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible)

Experience with CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and shell scripting (Bash)

Experience with monitoring tools such as NewRelic, Grafana, and Prometheus

Strong collaboration skills, proactive mindset, and ability to work effectively in distributed Agile teams
