YOUR ROLE
- As a Category Manager on our team, you’ll lead the direct material team of Category Leaders) and ensure that the right and most efficient work instructions, processes and systems are in place for the team. Define the optimum set up of the team in order to deliver the best performance and business impact across all levers to the Product Business Unit.
In your daily job you will:

Develop category strategies that create competitive advantage for PBU and capture value for Aptiv regionally and globally in close collaboration with Global Category team, to meet the business needs of the PBU

Ensure efficient execution of respective category strategies

Lead the direct material team of Category Leaders and ensure that the right and most efficient work instructions, processes and systems are in place for the team. Define the optimum set up of the team in order to deliver the best performance and business impact across all levers to the CS PBU

Drive and pull SCM performance across all levers
-
Meeting/exceeding the functional targets in close cooperation with all functional and cross-functional stakeholders and with Global Category team

Lead/own supplier relationship management
YOUR BACKGROUND
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
-
Minimum 5 years of experience as Category/Procurement Manager
-
Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with vendors and internal cross-functional teams

Strong problem solving skills
